Moving again after a surgical operation
Passive post-surgical movement is prescribed when the knee must be moved immediately. It is carried out using a machine fitted with an articulated slide, on which the lower limb is rested, and which imposes the movement.
If this movement follows a purely rotational motion, an unnatural trajectory is transmitted to the knee, causing abnormal tractions on the ligaments and damage to the cartilages and the meniscus.
The machine for passive gymnastics must reproduce the natural movement described in the knee equation, in order not to create tension inside the articulation compromising the functioning of
the organs operated on.
To do this the KTJ© articulated joint with variable rotation centre should be used.
