WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON TRAUMAS OF THE KNEE?
Sprains which cause traumas of the ligaments (anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligaments, internal or medial collateral ligament and external or lateral collateral ligament), of the meniscus or articular surfaces.

WHAT ARE THE DEVICES AND APPARATUS WHICH USE THE KTJ ARTICULATED JOINT?

WHAT ADVANTAGES CAN A KTJ KNEE PAD GIVE?
The KTJ knee pad, like all knee protectors, is not intended as a cure, its job is to support the traumatized knee.
In particular the KTJ knee pad, moving completely in tune with the knee, is not incompatible with the knee's trajectory, thus avoiding any abnormal tension which tends to offload onto the ligaments, meniscus and the articular cartilages. Therefore the advantage is that it does not create any further problems inside the traumatized knee.

ARE THE KTJ KNEE PROTECTORS “4 POINT” PROTECTORS?
If by 4 points we mean the knee pad fixed to the limb with four straps, all KTJ knee pads have 4 straps to attach them, so that they are made perfectly solid with the knee.

ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS TO USING THE KNEE PAD? OR ARE THERE TYPES OF ACCIDENT WHEN IT WOULD NOT BE ADVISABLE TO USE IT?
For knee pads using the KTJ articulated joint there are absolutely no contraindications. As they are external protectors, and give a rotational-translatory motion, they do not come into conflict with the trajectory of the knee and thus do not create abnormal tensions inside the joint. In this way the KTJ knee pads are suitable for all pathologies of the knee since they create a mechanical support throughout the arc of movement.

ARE THERE CONTRAINDICATIONS CONCERNING ALLERGIES OR CERTAIN TYPES OF TISSUE?
The knee pad is lined with an anti-allergy and anti-mycotic material and so all forms of allergy should be excluded.

IF I PROTECT MYSELF WITH A KNEE PAD HOW SOON AFTER AN OPERATION CAN I RESUME PHYSICAL ACTIVITY?
The KTJ knee pad does not reduce the recovery time but it gives maximum protection for the knee. Therefore the doctor should decide when sport may be practised again . If the doctor decides that support is also needed for the joint, the KTJ knee pad offers the maximum guarantee.

CAN THE KNEE PAD BE USEFUL FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T PRACTICE SPORT BUT FOR EXAMPLE, WALKS A LOT?
Certainly. The KTJ knee pad keeps an unstable knee on a physiological trajectory and therefore tends to reduce the conflicts which can be caused by prolonged and/or repetitive activity and the instability of the knee itself.

IF I USE THE KNEE PAD CAN I AVOID AN OPERATION ON A DAMAGED KNEE?
This depends a lot on the extent of the trauma. When the trauma is not serious and the activity is not too demanding (amateur sport) the KTJ knee pad is an excellent mechanical support.

IS THE PRODUCT GUARANTEED?
Like all products on the market it is guaranteed for one year.

CAN A PERSISTANT PAIN IN THE KNEE BE CAUSED BY THE WRONG TYPE OF GYMNASTICS?
Yes, it can, unfortunately. If the knee pad has an articulated joint which does not reproduce a rotational-translatory motion, it draws the knee on a wrong trajectory with severe distress to the ligaments, the cartilages, the meniscus and the articular capsule. This can cause irritation, pain and/or swelling.
